SOLAS Chapter II-2 and IMO Resolution A.752 (18) as well as International Code for Fire Safety
Systems(2007), Chapter 11 requires beside visual inspection, the measurement of Illuminance and
Luminance.
IMO A.752 refers to ISO 15370: 2001 / 2010 in which paragraph 8.4 & 8.5 requires that all Low Location Light
Systems should be inspected and measured at least once per Year and the competent authority shall ensure
the complete system has been measured over a five Year period.
  
The inspection / measurement shall be registered and must be included in the ship’s maintenance system

Companies performing measurements must hold a certificate from a well-known classification society or a
technical controlling body that shows that the company is competent to carry out due to ISO, DIN or EU,
such field measurements.

M.A.C.E., Inc. is approved by Lloyd’s Register and DNV since 2007 to carry out testing of Low-location Lighting Systems.
